Our Missionaries

At Lighthouse, we are proud to be the sending church for four Missionaries and their family who are actively serving to propagate the gospel around the world. We have often said that “Our Mission is the Great Commission.” We strive to live up to this motto and invest in people who make a difference for the cause of Christ and reach the uttermost part of the Earth.

Aaron Vance

Aaron and Aubrie Vance have been married since 2009 and are blessed with five children. Aaron trained under Pastor Charles Blackstock and completed his degree through the Baptist College for World Evangelism. While serving on staff at Lighthouse Baptist Church, he started the Spanish ministry in 2006, developing a burden for reaching Spanish-speaking communities.

They have served as missionaries in Colombia since 2011 and have been on the field since 2013, laboring to see lives transformed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Since arriving in Colombia, the Vance family has been involved in church planting, leadership training, and Gospel outreach. By God’s grace, several local churches have been established, national leaders are being equipped through a Bible Institute, and a growing ministry is reaching communities through both practical and spiritual means.

Their work also includes a recording studio that produces daily Gospel-centered content and a feeding and education center serving underprivileged children, with future plans to expand outreach even further. Their desire is to see strong local churches established and leaders raised up to carry the Gospel forward across Colombia.

Chris Hill

Chris Hill is our missionary to Japan. Chris left Lighthouse Baptist Church in late 2024 to join his brother Will and run a Christian school in Niigata, Japan. We, as a church, have the wonderful privilege of sending Chris to the needy country of Japan. Chris is fulfilling a great need for the Church in Japan by making Christian education for the believers there possible.

Robert Canfield

The Canfields are our missionaries. They have three children. Robert founded Taking the Light to share the Gospel with those not yet reached. They are partnering with our ministry, Lighthouse Global Studios, and missionaries worldwide to build studios and send preachers armed with radios and MP3 players into unreached villages. Robert is currently focused on three countries: Burkina Faso, Peru, and South Africa. In 2023, Robert took a team from Lighthouse to build a recording studio in Burkina Faso in partnership with Jason Rishel, and in 2025, he took a team to Peru to build a studio for David Gardner.

Will Hill

Will and Rebel Hill have been church-planting missionaries to Japan since 2012. Both Will and Rebel, as teenagers, surrendered their lives to proclaim the gospel as missionaries. They came to Lighthouse Baptist Church in 2004 to enter our missionary training program after spending six months in Peru, SA, for missionary training as part of the requirements to graduate from our missions college. He spent three years in intensive Bible College classes and one-on-one mentoring by our Pastor and key members of our staff. After graduating in 2007, he worked in and led many of our various ministries here at LBC and even started some new ones.

In 2012, they became full-time missionaries and began raising support. In 2015, they arrived in Japan and began language school while working with Veteran missionaries Michael Burgett and Russ Stanford.

In 2018, Will and Rebel started Kibou (Hope) Baptist Church in Niigata, Japan, which is home to approximately 1 million people. In just a few short years, they had hundreds of Japanese people visit and hear the Gospel, many of whom had never heard it before.

At the end of 2019, they started a 2nd church plant in downtown Niigata and were able to share the gospel with many souls for several months, until COVID hit.
During the pandemic, Will began to feel a burden for international people living in Niigata, realizing there was no church serving them. So in 2022, they began another work that reached out to the international community as well.

In the summer of 2023, they returned to the States to raise funds to purchase a building for their first church plant.

We at LBC know for certain that Will and Rebel love the Lord and have a deep burden for the Japanese people. No one will work harder to reach the Japanese for Christ. We are proud to be their sending church and blessed to support them. You will not be disappointed in the return you get for supporting this family. If you have any questions about the Hill family, please feel free to call us.
