First Time?
We want it to be easy for you to come to church. We want you to experience a great time in worship and meet friendly people who will welcome you into the family of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
We know that first-time visits to any church raise many questions and concerns. Here's a quick look at some frequently asked questions that will hopefully give you a better idea of what to expect when you come visit us at Lighthouse. And if you don't see an answer to your question here or on any of the specific ministry pages, then please feel free to contact us at the church office by calling 706-265-9868. Our staff would love to assist you in preparation for your visit to Lighthouse.
Where are you located?
Our address is 329 Harmony Church Rd, Dawsonville, GA, 30534. Click Here For Directions
Where do I go?
Greeters are located at each entrance to the building and are available to direct you to the auditorium for worship, to a classroom for Sunday School or to any specific ministry meeting area.
What should I wear?
There is no strict dress code to attend our public services. Many of our members try to wear their "Sunday best" when possible, but we're not asking you to do that. We'd like to see you comfortable, and only ask that you dress modestly and appropriately in what you decide to wear to the Lord's house.
What do I need to bring?
A Bible will help you follow along in both worship and Sunday School. If you have a Bible, bring it with you. We highly recommend a good old fashioned King James Bible if you have one. If you don't have a Bible, or you happen to forget yours at home, one of our friendly members will be happy to share their Bible with you!
When do I need to arrive?
Sunday morning services begin promptly at 11am. Sunday School classes meet at 9:45am. You might want to plan to arrive about 15 minutes prior to the service/class time to allow adequate time for parking and getting to the Auditorium/Sunday School class.
Is the church handicap accessible?
Yes. There is reserved parking directly in front of the auditorium. The auditorium can easily accomodate those needing seating for wheelchairs.
Where do my children go?
Just inside the entrance are greeters stationed throughout the morning to help your child get to their classroom.
How are visitors recognized?
The last thing we want to do is single you out or put you on the spot. We ask visitors to fill out a Guest Information Card and simply drop it in the offering plate so that we can have a record of your visit. We'll never ask you to stand up or call you out in any way. We want you to have a wonderful experience at Lighthouse and we strive to create a friendly and comfortable environment to make you feel right at home.
We hope you'll join us soon!
